Thanks for stopping by and visiting my site. It has been a labor of love to put this website together. My name is Tonya Vander, and I am a
homeschooling mom with a growing family and a growing photography business.
Many have asked me how and why I got involved in photography. My story, while unique in some ways, is probably much like your story, and started with a dream of doing something that, hopefully would
inspire people to be all that they can be. Ever since I was a little girl, I’d dreamt of going to Africa, a desire which, I was able to fulfill the year I turned thirty. While I thought I went there to help at an orphanage, God had other ideas. Freed from the hectic pace of life, I saw the hand of God move in many different ways than ever before.
Needless to say, I came back a changed woman, knowing my life would never be the same. I had taken pictures of the orphan boys we are trying to help. When I showed the pictures to people, I saw the
impact a picture could have on someone. Emboldened by my experience, I bought my first ‘real’ camera, and four years later, here we are.
Photography showed me that I could change how my subject looked, and how people responded to it. Lives are touched, and attitudes are changed, by the way a subject is presented. Colors that I hadn’t seen before were suddenly crystal clear before my eyes. And, photography also provided a way to conserve images and memories that are dear to me.
Sit back and enjoy the pictures on my website. Enjoy this sanctuary of peace, and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to email me at
